Live-in Kennel Hand/Caretaker in AVELEY, Western Australia

Apple Street Kennels is looking for a live-in Kennel Hand/Caretaker to complement our existing staff.
The suitable candidate must be able to put the welfare of the dogs in our care first, be prepared for hard work, ability to work weekends, public holidays and school holidays. In addition, you will be required to do general garden and kennel maintenance and be caretaker of the kennels afterhours on a shared basis with the owner.
Kennel Hand/Caretaker duties include:
• Cleaning and washing runs
• Feeding
• Medicating
• Washing and drying dogs
• Exercising dogs
• Chauffeuring dogs to/from home to kennels
• General tidy up of grounds
• Mowing lawns
• Maintenance of runs, water bowls
• General office functions
• Oversee and care of kennels afterhours
You will need to perform duties in accordance with our policies and procedures and demonstrate an ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Customer communication skills and an ability to work well with a broad range of people are favoured. A drivers licence is required.
The job is casual part time with the occasional need to be home on the premises afterhours to oversee the care of the kennels.
